  Charming Kilarney

A lovely day of shopping, R&R and also business work for yours truly

KILARNEY, Ireland, Oct 17, 2011 - After four days in beautiful but freezing Inch, we did not feel like being too adventures on our first day of the Tour of Ireland.  We picked up our rental car at the Kerry County airport and drove only a short distance to Kilarney (see above map), a charming town where we planned to drop anchor for the day.  We found a nice hotel from where we could practically walk anywhere in this small town.  The room was warm and cozy and offered a lovely park-like view, too.

This was also the day I needed to do some of my business analysis and writing when the stock market opened in New York. So we had a few hours to sightsee and shop before New York woke up and went to work.  Here are some of the pictures we took...

Bingo! This is the Aran Island famous wool store we've been looking for.

When we returned to the hotel from our cold and windy drive/walk, I finally found a piano.  It was the first time since we left home that was able to play it.  The piano was in the bar area adjacent to the lobby.  Afterwards, the staff and other guests told me how much they enjoyed "the concert."  I had no idea there were that many people listening.  As far as I was concerned, I was playing it just for my soul and for Elizabeth.  But it was nice to hear that the Arizona Kokopelli was welcome in the village of Kilarney.  :-)
