Gloomy Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Mar 31, 2007 - As approached Frankfurt early Saturday evening, things looked pretty gloomy, especially in comparison to the weeklong sunshine in Moscow...

One thing was evident, though, and that's that there was a lot more greenery around here than in the Russian capital.  

What a difference three hours (of flying time) make, even if it is basically the same geographic latitude (Frankfurt is only slightly south of Moscow - see the map).

Once on the ground, I just had to walk over to my hotel.

FRANKFURT, Apr 1 - I had to get up this morning at the crack of dawn.  In fact, the lights were still on by the time I made it back to the airport.

The Frankfurt airport at dawn on this April Fool's day...

...looked a little brighter than the last day of March.

And then it was time to board my flight to New York... (maybe, because they just announced a delay... mechanical problems or something).  Meanwhile, the sun is rising, promising a bright Sunday in Frankfurt.
