Breezing through Hong Kong

SINGAPORE, Mar 23, 2007 - My trip to Hong Kong was like a breeze... in and out in five hours.

Crossing a bridge enroute to the airport with a view of downtown Hong Kong...

...and arriving at the airport...

Navigating through a busy Hong Kong airport terminal.

Outside, the weather became overcast as a storm was moving in.

Guess that's what happens when the temps reach into the 80s in this kind of a humid climate.

The best part of the Hong Kong-Singapore experience was the Singapore Air flight accommodation.  It was a spanking new Boeing 777-300-ER.

In front of the seat, there was an office size desk and a full size TV screen with HDD quality pictures.

You can see here the size of the screen relative to the newspapers on the table below.  I'd guess it's probably about a 24-inch screen.  The route of flight from Hong Kong to Singapore is highlighted above in pale blue.

Here's a close up of the starting part of the route.

And then it was time to take off...

After this last shot, we entered the stormy clouds which spelled the end of this part of the travelogue.

A couple of hours later, I found myself looking down on what looked like the Mekong Delta.  We crossed over Vietnam in the southeast part of the country - the former South Vietnam territory.  The old familiar names from the time of Vietnam war kept popping up on the flight screen.

On to Singapore...
