Moscow, Day 8
MOSCOW, Mar 31, 2007 - I spent my last few hours in the Russian capital walking around the area in which my hotel is.
This is the High St. Peter's Monastery that's on the same street (Petrovka) as my hotel.
This is another church that's a part of St. Peter's monastery, hidden deeper in the red brick compound that surrounds it.
Off in a side street that leads to the monastery, one can see these lovely 18th century buildings. The first one (yellow) is newly restored and now serves as an investment club. The second one, even more ornate, is due for renovation. But its architectural beauty shows anyway even through the dirt, grime and patina of years since the last renovation.
And that's all she wrote from this Moscow visit.
